Custom Commercial Mural for FireFlower Craft Cannabis
FireFlower Craft Cannabis commissioned Brianna Gardocki to create a custom exterior mural for its dispensary in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The wall faced Expo New Mexico, a major public venue that hosts the New Mexico State Fair and other large events throughout the year.
FireFlower needed artwork that would give the building a clear visual identity before opening. The mural had to be recognizable from the street, connected to the brand, and strong enough to hold attention on a large exterior wall.

The Project Goal
Before its soft opening, FireFlower wanted a mural that would help the dispensary stand out in a visible commercial location. The wall faced a high-traffic public venue, so the artwork needed to work from a distance while still feeling detailed and intentional up close.
The mural also needed to reflect FireFlower’s brand without feeling like a product advertisement. The visual direction centered on craft, growth, exploration, and the company’s motto: “Explore an Enchanted State.”

The Design Approach
Brianna developed the mural concept in collaboration with FireFlower co-founder Jess Franz. The final design centered on a female explorer surrounded by stars, organic forms, cannabis imagery, desert elements, and references to the FireFlower brand.
The composition was built around movement and visibility. Large shapes, strong outlines, and high-contrast colors helped the mural read clearly from the street. Smaller details gave the artwork personality for customers viewing it up close.

FireFlower’s brand colors guided the palette. Brianna used deep red, turquoise, yellow, black outlines, and off-white highlights to connect the mural to the company’s existing visual identity. The FireFlower logo was also included in the composition so the finished wall felt tied to the business, not added on as separate signage.

From Concept to Final Design
The first concept established the main character, visual flow, and overall mood of the mural. During revision, Brianna adjusted the layout to better fit the wall, expanded the composition, added the FireFlower logo, and included more star details across the background.
These revisions helped the mural feel balanced across the full exterior surface. The final design gave FireFlower a branded focal point that matched the scale and visibility of the site.

Installation and Timeline
The mural had a fixed deadline ahead of FireFlower’s soft opening. After the design was approved, Brianna primed, traced, and painted the 250 sq. ft. stucco wall.
The installation required planning around heat, wall texture, and schedule. New Mexico summer temperatures reached over 100°F, and the textured exterior surface made the painting process slower than a smooth indoor wall. Brianna adjusted the work schedule and kept the project moving each day.

The mural was completed on August 10, five days before FireFlower’s soft opening deadline.

The Finished Mural
The completed mural gave FireFlower a bold exterior identity before opening. The wall became a clear visual marker for the dispensary and created a more memorable first impression for customers, event visitors, and people passing by the building.
For FireFlower, the mural helped communicate the brand’s personality before customers entered the space. It also gave the business a public-facing artwork that could support recognition, photography, and local visibility over time.
